Boat and RV Loan FAQs
Does everyone receive their loan decision in 24 hours?
Turnaround time frames may vary based on the amount of time it takes to get the required paperwork and documentation to our loan department.
How are recreational loan rates determined?
Rates will vary depending on creditworthiness and are subject to change without notice. Loan terms available may vary depending on the amount borrowed, length of the contract, credit history, and payment method. All loans are subject to approval.
Regular terms and conditions apply.
Who can be a Member of Telcoe Federal Credit Union?
Family members of existing Telcoe members are eligible to join.
Many Arkansas employers offer Telcoe as a FREE employment benefit. Those currently working at or are retired from an Arkansas employer that is a Telcoe partner are also eligible.
Is there a minimum length of time I need to be a Telcoe member before I can apply for a recreational loan?
You will need to join the credit union in order to apply for a loan and to get access to your credit report. However, once you’re a member, you’re ready to apply for a loan–that very day!
Simply apply online by logging into your account at www.telcoe.com. Then, click on APPLICATIONS and you’re ready to apply for an auto or personal loan.
If you’re interested in speaking to a loan specialist before joining, we’re happy to answer your questions and address your concerns.
Please call 501-375-5321 and select option 2.
Is my recreational loan eligible for Telcoe’s December Skip-a-Pay option?
Yes!
In addition to Auto and Motorcycle loans, recreational loans can also be considered for the December Skip-a-Payment program.
The application window for this program, which allows you to have more cash on hand during the holidays by deferring your monthly loan payment, begins in October. Simply complete the online form request in order to skip your upcoming December payment(s).
What if I want to apply for a recreational (or other) loan, but I don’t have much of a credit history?
Telcoe understands that not every member comes with a perfect credit history or has had time to establish one.
That’s why we offer a CREDIT BUILDER LOAN in order to help our members establish credit and build a credit score with the TransUnion credit bureau.
To be eligible, you must be 18 years of age or older, and you must have employment income. Then, you can establish a credit builder loan with Telcoe.
What’s the difference between taking out a loan with a credit union versus taking out a loan with a traditional commercial bank?
If you’re not already a Telcoe member, your bank probably already offers recreational loans. What exactly is the difference between taking out a loan with us versus a bank? Is the loan process any different?
Simply put, whereas a bank is typically interested in profits, credit unions are member-owned nonprofits. That means once we meet our overhead costs, we pass along earnings to our members. That shows up in your bank checking and savings accounts in the forms of higher dividends, as well as the money you save with lower interest rates on your loans.
This is also the reason why credit unions can often offer loans to applicants who may not qualify to borrow at for-profit banks. Credit unions also work with their members to help them plan for their financial futures with various products and services that are included with their benefits, including financial education and counseling services.
